About The Artist
Alberto was born in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, Oaxaca. He is a multidisciplinary artist, self taught painter, & graphic designer whom holds a Plastic Arts degree from the Benito Juárez Autonomous University of Oaxaca. Impressively, he has exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions, both national and international and was the recipient of the Takeda Award (2016) among many others.
Although his primary medium is printmaking, his artistic practice involves various creative disciplines such as painting, graphic design, illustration, mural art and collage. His preferred imagery is children's illustration in which he finds a personal language to create his work. In turn, most of his pieces focus on childhood and innocence. Through this, he has developed a line that is pure and simple, yet lucid and mysterious where each piece tells a narrative of a world of possibilities.
Cruz delights us with 3 untitled prints that are just waiting to come home with you! Place the art work in a frame on your wall or give one as a gift. However you imagine it, the art will surely make a lovely piece of home decor!
Each art piece is made by hand using a technique called block printing which involves hand carving the desired art work onto a large block, covering that design in ink or dye, and stamping it onto the fabric or canvas. While blocks could be made from stone and other strong natural materials, they were most commonly made of wood.
Each art print is approximately 7.5" x 11"
