Vintage Sesame Street Book & Record
Did you know that Sesame's Street was created to address issues of inequality, poverty, and justice? Perhaps you already knew that, but did you also know that since it's inception, it has been rooted in African-American culture, more specifically the historically black community of Harlem. That's right! From set design, casting, to marketing! In fact, the opening theme song in which the question is posed "can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street," can be answered by Duke Ellington's "Take the A Train."
What makes this record so special is the representation! The record cover is the original cast of Sesame Street, a diverse crew including many Black men and women, an intentional effort my the shows creators!
Included in this vinyl record is a Sesame Street book!
